Dropping into the sexy town of Gustavia brought a bit of high-end shopping along with a restful few hours on the sand at Plage de Saline. And doubling back to the British Virgin Islands the next day, we spent time touring Virgin Gorda Island and the rock formations at The Baths in Devil’s Bay National Park. And on the top deck, the Sky Bar was the life of the party on a couple of evenings – including our sail-out, with the lights of San Juan twinkling goodbye. Similarly, independent-minded travelers who revel in making their own plans when tackling a new destination also stand to benefit from off-the-beaten-path itineraries like Emerald’s Hidden Charms of the Caribbean.

Adjacent to the spa, the gym makes great use of a small space, sporting a Concept rowing machine, Technogym treadmill and a Technogym Unica Multigym. Guided fitness classes in the gym, as well as yoga and Pilates on the Observation Deck fill in the fitness gaps. I really enjoyed my morning yoga sessions, the sun just freshly up and not too hot, coffee aromas wafting from the Observation Lounge. In other cases, the ships will look more like mini cruise ships, as is the case with SeaDream Yacht Club’s flagships SeaDream I and SeaDream II. The same can be said about Windstar Cruises trio of Star Plus Class ships – Star Breeze, Star Legend and Star Pride.
This isn’t Four Seasons' first foray into itinerary-based vacations.
Just give them a call or shoot them an email, and they will match you with an internal cruise adviser. You'll also earn one elite night credit for each night you sail. Note that the passenger paying for the cruise will earn the points and elite night credits. While guests have access to Ritz-Kids, babysitting services are not offered.
There is no need to tip the staff on The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection vessels. A service charge — except for spa treatments and salon appointments — is included in the cruise fare. Of course, feel free to tip any crew member that goes above and beyond during your voyage. While not on the top deck, The Marina is a standout feature of the yacht.

Luxury Cruise – SeaDream Suite Options
Harness the wind with a sailing vacation aboard an innovative catamaran or sleek monohull in one of over 20 idyllic destinations. If you’re new to sailing, an expert Moorings Skipper can take the helm for an amazing adventure of discovery on the water like no other. On a bareboat charter, you will take responsibility for skippering your own yacht and guiding yourself around your chosen destination. No crew will join you on board, although our base crew will be on hand to support you whenever necessary. On a skippered charter, an experienced skipper will take the helm for all or part of your vacation so you can relax up on deck when you want, while also having the choice to guide yourself around for part of the charter. We never forget that curiosity, awe and adventure are what make travel so transformative, both on land and at sea.
But cabins with six-digit prices aren't unheard of.
The yacht's 611-square-foot, bi-level Loft Suites are interesting because they separate the living space (upstairs) from your sleeping quarters (downstairs). The plus is that you can enter the suite from hallways on both levels. The bathroom situation is also upgraded, with a double vanity master bathroom that includes a soaking tub and a separate shower (on the lower level) and a powder room on the upper level.
If you enjoy staying on board in an uncrowded setting more than discovering destinations, there’s also plenty to like on a yacht cruise. The comfort and elegance of the yacht-style ship is alluring for travelers who enjoy kicking back in the comfort of their cabin balcony or by the pool and simply enjoy the tropical views. But by virtue of being small vessels, yacht cruises will also offer limited entertainment and dining venues.
Probably those huge luxury cruisers reserved for the high society folks, right? Well, that’s true, but those are a special group of ships referred to as luxury yachts. The Owner’s Suites offer 1,165 square feet of space, including a massive outside terrace, walk-in closet and lounge area.
The Beneteau Oceanis 60 is by far the best sailing yacht we’ve come across. It is built on a hull that guarantees safety and unmatched performance at every turn. It comes with a master head, a spacious stall shower, and a full-beam master stateroom that even has its own private entrance.
In the beauty salon, a shampoo and style starts at $80 for short hair, $90 for medium and $100 for long. A haircut and style are a bit more expensive, starting at $100 for short hair, $125 for medium and $140 for long hair. Hair straightening or curling (with no wash) is a bargain at $55. If you want a manicure, the 45-minute "Supreme" will set you back $95. For men, a beard trim starts at $35 while a shave starts at $75. The complete spa oasis includes a Relaxation Lounge and outdoor relaxation areas, including a hot tub all the way forward on that deck.
Throughout your crewed charter, you’ll enjoy the nautical skills and local knowledge of your captain, while your gourmet chef surprises you again and again with delectable meals tailored to your particular tastes. “Sakara” is a Sanskrit word meaning “thoughts become things” – a fitting name, given the thought that went into the ship’s chic design. And our itinerary for the week couldn’t be more yacht-like – an island-hopping experience in the West Indies, stopping in out-of-the-way ports that larger cruise ships can’t manage. And while some smaller boats can feel rocky, the Sakara’s stabilizers keep the ship on an even keel. The thread connecting the passengers was a relaxed yet enthusiastic sense of adventure.
Further to this point, the use of tenders to access destinations has both advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, it affords additional flexibility to visit destinations for longer periods than docking would allow. There’s also a certain sense of adventure and remoteness attached to boarding a tender to reach lesser-visited islands of the Caribbean.
Our Ladies and Gentlemen ensure that your every need is met with genuine care and the legendary service that The Ritz-Carlton is known for. With every detail considered, you’re free to enjoy each moment of your all-inclusive journey. Whether you’re searching for a tropical haven, looking for sunny shores, wanting to explore new cultures, or longing to relax on board, you’ll discover a world of adventure when sailing with Emerald Cruises. In a perfect world, you would have all the money you need to buy any kind of watercraft you want. So, even if you’re planning to purchase a small yacht, you’ll still need to spend quite a bit of cash to get it. As far as luxury yachts go, the Westport 112 Motor Yacht is in a class of its own.
The centre cockpit offers a deep protected guest area, but also links well to the spacious aft deck. No matter which method you use to book your voyage, maximize your credit card points when paying for the sailing by using a credit card that offers extra points for travel purchases. This could be the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, which offers 3 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent on travel and dining (excluding the annual $300 travel credit).
